Juli Platt developed a passion for art at a very young age. As a child, she was always drawing, coloring, making crafts and creating art. Juli’s mother, an Art History major, encouraged her interests and enrolled her in painting and ceramics classes. From there, her skills and enthusiasm grew!
Juli received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts & Design at Tufts University and a Master’s Degree from Boston University’s College of Communication. Additionally, she completed an Architecture Program at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.
Juli spent the early part of her career as an Art Director and a Graphic Designer for Network Television, having worked at CNN, ESPN, local affiliates in Philadelphia, and at NBC in New York as the Graphics Director for the Today Show. However, her true passion lies in educating others. For the past decade and a half, she has been teaching art and inspiring students to discover and express their individuality and creativity.
Juli worked as an Art Instructor at several NJ-based schools, prior to starting A Positive Space. Most recently, she taught both online and in-person art classes at AcadeME NJ. Previously, Juli was the Art Teacher at Golda Och Academy’s Lower School in West Orange, teaching Kindergarten through 5th grade. Before joining GOA, Juli was employed with YBH of Passaic, where she taught elementary and middle school students. As YBH's first Art Instructor, Juli designed an entirely new art curriculum from the ground up. She created age appropriate lesson plans and introduced students to various styles, techniques and periods of art. These projects allowed students to experiment with different tools, materials and media, which encouraged them to discover their own originality and vision.
In addition, Juli taught After School Art Enrichment courses and served as the Art Appreciation Co-Chair for South Mountain Elementary School in Millburn. She created a syllabus that complemented each grade’s curriculum and also reflected the school’s diverse student body. The program incorporated a variety of famous artists and art styles and aimed to spark students’ imaginations while teaching them about art history. Art projects included an array of media and artistic processes, including acrylic and watercolor painting, sculpture, clay, as well as sketching and drawing.
Juli is passionate about art and sharing her interest with a new generation of artists. She continues to hone her skills and attends professional development classes and workshops throughout the year.
Juli is excited to share her lifetime of experiences in art with others.

Allison Wittlinger spent 35 years as a high school Special Education teacher. A long time resident of New Jersey, she holds a BA in Fine Arts and a Teaching Certificate in Special Education grades K-12, for all subjects. Teaching in the Ramapo-Indian Hills School District, she started her career in a self-contained classroom (with students of varying disabilities,) teaching all subjects. She then moved to the Resource Room setting, teaching multiple subjects, 9th - 12th grades. For the last 25 years, Allison has taught exclusively English Literature, grades 9th-12th in both the Resource Center and the College Prep classes.

Dorri Ramati is a writer, educator, observer and traveler who currently lives in New Jersey. She holds a B.A. in Literature/Rhetoric from Binghamton University, and an M.A. in Education from Hunter College. In 2001, she began a 13 year journey of living overseas and traveling. It was during that time that she started her family while also finding her inspiration to pick up her pen. Dorri is currently working on multiple writing projects, including a book of essays about her experiences living overseas.
